Clinical course and outcome of infants infected with Covid 19 in Koodakan and Alzahra educational and medical centers of Tabriz
Abstract
According to recent evidence, elderly and people with underlying diseases such as high blood pressure, heart diseases, or diseases, the possibility of worsening of the disease of COVID-19 is greater. However, the study related to the clinical course and complications, and finally, many studies have yet to be conducted and have not been investigated in infants with Covid 19. The aim of this study is the clinical and final examination of infants infected with Covid 19 in the educational and treatment centers for children and Al-Zahra in Tabriz.
Materials and Methods: In this study, which was conducted as a whole number, the files of all infants infected with Covid 19 were entered between March 2018 and the end of 2014 (for two years). Output characteristics include incomplete information on files. A list has been prepared that demographics of age and gender, including the report of disease factors, clinical information, time, disease of the disease in hospitalization, and the final and final outcome of the disease have been collected and analyzed. The clinical course includes the duration of hospitalization and, finally, the disease at the time of discharge. The results were evaluated based on the file information and the doctor's and para clinic's opinion, including chest X-ray (CXR), CT Scan, echocardiography, etc.
Results: This cross-sectional study investigated 55 infants with COVID-19 with a median of 1 day and a median gestational age of 34 weeks. Most of the studied babies (60%) were male. The average birth weight of babies was 2300 grams. Most infants with covid 19 in this study have mild disease severity (67.3%) compared to 6 severe and two severe patients. The median age of infants with Covid-19 was 3 day (IQR: 1-14). No case of mortality was observed.
