Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgeries under Spinal Anesthesia Compared with General Anesthesia

Abstract

The ideal anesthesia technique in laparoscopic surgeries should lead to providing a stable cardiovascular and respiratory condition, quick recovery, reduction of nausea and vomiting after surgery, and faster recovery of pain after surgery to start moving the patient faster. The current study aims to compare the results of laparoscopic surgeries for women in two methods of spinal anesthesia and general anesthesia. Materials and Methods: In this study, which is a randomized clinical trial, 80 women between the ages of 18 and 60 with ASA class I and II physical status, candidates for advanced laparoscopic surgery for women, were randomly divided into two groups of 40 and examined. were placed Vital signs of the patient including SBP, DBP, HR, RR, SPO2 and EtCO2 were recorded every 5 minutes until the end of the procedure and transfer of the patient to the PACU. Results: The current study examined 80 patients with an average age of 35.15 ± 9.60 years and candidates for gynecology laparoscopy in two groups of general anesthesia (GA) and spinal anesthesia (SA). The most common cause of surgery in patients of both groups was cystectomy. The mean arterial pressure in the GA group was significantly higher than the SA group, only at minute 5. Heart rate, arterial blood oxygen, and EtCO2 during the study did not differ between the two groups. In evaluating complications during surgery, hypotension, shoulder pain, nausea and vomiting were significantly higher in the SA group than in the GA group.
