dc.description.abstractABSTRACT Objective: Introduction and goal:. Despite the World Health Report on natural childbirth as an important indicator in improving the health of mothers, in most countries of the world, cesarean section without medical reasons is increasing at a very significant rate, and Iran is at the top among the countries of the world. The purpose of this study is to identify effective policy options for promoting natural childbirth Method and Material This study was conducted in five interrelated phases. First, a systematic review was done by searching international databases. Relevant policy options were extracted. Then, the challenges of promoting natural childbirth were extracted through interviews with experts and expectant mothers. And analysis was done using MAXQDA 11 software. Policy options based on challenges were extracted and prioritized through interviews with experts. A policy summary was prepared for priority policy options. Results: The policy options presented in order to promote natural childbirth in the three general areas of population control programs, economic saving programs, patient safety programs, and improving the quality of services were gathered, and the results of the analysis of the data collected from the interviews show that the challenges The main obstacles in the three groups are related to infrastructure, mothers, providers, and finally, effective and prioritized policy options to promote natural childbirth in five main areas - 1. Favoring the process of natural childbirth - 2. Empowering and satisfying service providers 3. Training and empowering Building mothers 4- Training and empowering the community 5- Monitoring, evaluating performance and monitoring actions Conclusion: The most important obstacles to natural childbirth are due to the lack of infrastructure (weak management and planning and lack of facilities), so this means that before any action, a proper foundation must be made, which is the most prioritized policy option related to the optimization of natural childbirth.
