In addition, about a third of the world's people lack access to essential medicines. This study aimed to examine the challenges and practical solutions to correct the correct pattern of drugs. Methods: The present study is a systematic review based on the Prisma guidelines. The inclusion criteria of this study were all articles, research, designs, and reports published in English until 2021. To obtain the desired articles, international databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane libraries, websites (International Food and Agriculture Organization, Food and Drug Administration, and other related organizations and centers), and institutional reports were searched. the interventions related to the modification of the drug prescription pattern were summarized in a table by the area of influence and the extent of their influence. Results: Out of 448 articles, 41 were selected for review. About half of the articles were in the last 4 years (2017-2021) and were conducted in 14 different countries. Some of the articles showed that interventions such as providing drug suggestions to doctors, educational visits, doctors' training programs, and computer controls, had a great impact on "rational drug prescription". Also, another study stated that the controlled drug prescription monitoring and care coordination program had a positive effect on reducing drug prescriptions by physicians and drug distributors. Conclusion: The consequences of interventions related to the improvement of the rational prescription of drugs can be evaluated in different financial and clinical areas, as well as based on various indicators such as reducing drug consumption, improving the quality of care, optimal use of resources, and reducing drug side effects investigated.en_US
