Appropriate restorative treatments are obtained in a biological framework that includ materials, methods, and principles of restorative dentistry. On the other hand, evaluating patient satisfaction is a good criteria for evaluating the treatment method, quality and also improving the physician-patient relationship. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical success and frequency of problems related to composite resin restorations in patients referred to the restorative department of Tabriz Dental School from the perspective of patients and professors of the restorative department. Method and matherials: The present study is a retrospective cross-sectional study and in this study 125 class II and III composite restorations that were performed by undergraduate dentistry students in 6 months ago were reviewed and re-evaluated according to the criteria of the USPHS table. Clinical success and frequency of problems were assessed from the perspective of professors and the frequency of various problems in the eyes of patients was measured by a patient questionnaire. result: SPSS software version 17 was used to analyze the results and according to the results of Fisher's exact test, there is no significant relationship between gender and patient jaw with the frequency of various problems from the perspective of patients and professors. The main problem from the professors 'point of view in class II and III restorations after six months is color mismatch and from the patients' point of view, sensitivity after treatment; Clinical success for Class II and III restorations is about 81% and the main cause of failure of Class II and III composite therapies is the lack of proper contact Conclusion: These results emphasize the need to pay more attention to increasing students' skills in choosing colors and restorations with appropriate contact, restorative materials and methods used and accurate evaluation of restorations at each call.en_US
