The correlation between burden of disease and the registered clinical trials from 2015 through 2017 in Iran
Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between disease burden and clinical trials of those diseases in Iran from 2015 to 2017.
Materials and Methods:
For this study, the title and subject of all Iranian clinical trials recorded in the ICTRP database of the World Health Organization and IRCT in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 were extracted and recorded in Microsoft Excel 2019 software. Then, the data related to the burden of diseases in Iran between 2010 and 2017, according to DALY, were extracted from The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) database and recorded in Microsoft Excel 2019 software, and part of the data Entered IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 software.
Results:
The number of studies and patients participating in gynecological diseases, endocrine, metabolic and immune diseases, and urological diseases and male infertility is more than the needs of society based on the burden of the same diseases, and on the other hand substance abuse, respiratory and intestinal infections, chronic lung diseases, neurological diseases, musculoskeletal diseases, neoplasms, cardiovascular diseases have been studied less than the needs of society.
