چکیده
Properly distribution of stress in bone around implant is an effective factor in implant success in patients with parafunctional habits such as bruxism.Purpose of this study is to investigate stress distribution in cancellous and cortical bone around reticular tantalum implant under normal and bruxism forces. The study performed on two samples of solid titanium implant and reticular tantalum implant (11.5 mm length and 4.7 mm width, zimmer system) in a piece of D3 bone in the maxillary canine area under load simulated forces with canine guide occlusion applied to normal functional loads (70 N Vertical,35 N 60 degree,14 N Horizontal) and bruxism (1000 N 30 degree) on control model (solid titanium implant) and study model (reticular tantalum implant) and comparison have been made between differences in simulation of normal function and bruxism. In this study Abacus software version 10 was used for analysis. Findings in this study indicated that stress in body of the implant under normal and bruxism loading in both implant types is more than trabecular and cancellous bone and stress distribution is similar at crestal region.Almost in all cases the amount of stress in cancellous bone around tantalum implant(15/86 Mpa) is more than titanium implant(10/9 Mpa) which the non-uniform distribution was observed in crestal area and also in all of the loadings, stress amount in cortical bone around tantalum implant(91/96 Mpa) is less than titanium implant(103/8 Mpa) and uniform stress distribution at crestal region was seen in both implants. Findings can be resulted that stress distribution is different in bone around the two implants and stress in cortical bone around tantalum implant is less than titanium implant under both normal(vertical 43/9%,oblique 10/61%,horizontal 6/23%) and bruxism forces(11/40%) and also maximum von mises stress is seen at interface of abutment-implant.
