Obstetric, Perinatal, and Fetal Outcomes in Pregnancies With False-Positive for chromosomal aneuploidy Screening Results

The aim of current study is to evaluate the maternal, fetal and neonatal complications of false positive screening for dawn syndromes.
Methods: In this case control study, 126 pregnant women with false positive screening results and 126 pregnancies with negative screening were evaluated. Demographic, during pregnancy and after delivery findings including maternal complications such as preeclampsia and hypertension, neonatal complications, fetal and neonatal mortality and neonate anthropometric parameters were recorded and compared between groups.
Results: Case group compared to controls had significantly higher maternal age (33.50±6.49 vs. 28.86±6.75, p<0.001), less smoking in the husband (15.1% vs. 27.8%, p=0.01), higher preeclampsia (21.4% vs. 11.3%, p=0.03) and proteinuria (26.2% vs. 15.3%, p=0.03), preterm labor (25.9% vs. 11.9%, p=0.006), low birth weight (12.5% vs. 5.1%, p=0.04), lower neonatal height (47.93±3.27 vs. 49.22±3.33, p=0.004) and APGAR minute 5 (9.60±1.12 vs. 9.85±0.63, p=0.03). There was no difference regarding neonate and fatal mortality and neonatal complications between groups.
