Methods and materials: In a case/control study, children with cleft palate who underwent surgery were investigated in two groups. One group received a puff of phenytoin spray for at least four weeks and other group did not receive any spray. Patients were evaluated for fistula formation after cleft palate surgery. Results: eighty children were received phenytoin spray and 80 were controls. Mean age of children at surgery time were 11.42±1.30 months in case group and 11.08±1.25 months in control group.
