dc.description.abstractAbstract Introduction: Library anxiety is an important education problem that involves many students during their study period. Library anxiety is an unpleasant feeling and emotional experience in library location that affects the behavioral, psychological, emotional and cognitive engagement through searching the scholar-material in libraries. Aim: The aim of current study was to investigate the relationship between personality traits and library anxiety among university students in Ardabil Medical Sciences University. Materials and Methods: The study is a cross - sectional study. The population consisted of 60 students of medical sciences who were selected randomly. For data collection we used the Bostic questionnaire and Costa and McCrae Personality Inventory (NEO). Data were analyzed using multiple regressions. Results: The results showed that among personality characteristics, neuroticism with beta amount of 0.356, and among demographic characteristics, educational level, with a beta of -0.86, and semester with a beta of 0.86 are involved in intensifying the library anxiety. Neuroticism increased library anxiety in students, and with increasing level of education, library anxiety is reduced, whereas by increasing the semester level the library anxiety increases also. Conclusion: Neuroticism increases the library anxiety of students. By increasing the education level, simultaneously decreases the library anxiety, whereas increasing the semester makes to increase the library anxiety too.en_US
