Abstract : Introdution: The road traffic injuries are among the serious problems of the public health that occur mainly in low income countries. The prerequisite for improving the status of traffic accidents is a comprehensive data collection system that is managed correctly. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to presen an Integrated Data Management Model for the Road Traffic Injury Surveillance System . Materials and Methods: The present study was conducted using descriptive-applied method. By using a comparative study, the road traffic injury surveillance systems of six countries including Malaysia, Egypt, the United States, Italy, Peru, and Iran were studied. A questionnaire including the main management pivots of road traffic injury surveillance system was prepared and it was surveyed among twenty traffic health professionals through a Delphi method. Findings : Based on the comparative study of the road traffic injury surveillance system in selective countries, Traffic police, Emergency department, Hospitals, Legal medicine, and Insurance organizations were introduced as five data sources. In the Final model for MDS of road traffic injury surveillance system were proposed 753 data elements in 37 subsets . Classification systems were proposed for the nature of injuries (ICD_31), Procedures (ICD-9-CM), external causes of injuries and trauma severity (ISS). In data collection (electronic health record with unit number), data storage and retrieval (data confidentiality) and data distribution (access to road traffic injury data by authorized persons) have earned the highest score. Conclusion : This research has identified the current state of the road traffic injuries Information and suggested integrated data management of road traffic injury surveillance system’s in five pivots including (MDS, data classification method, data collecting, storage and distribution) for planning useful managers in order to provide effective health care in the road traffic injuries.Key Words: Data Management , Road Traffic, Surveillance System.en_US
