dc.description.abstractBackground: A quick, timely and accurate assessment and decisions for the diagnosis and treatment of acute stroke, which is the third leading cause of death in the world, is necessary. This process is often done with using a traditional method that increases the hardness, time and Exposed to medical errors. Objective: this study was conducted with the aim of design and evaluation of mobile-based information system for severity assessment and therapeutic trend determination of acute stroke patient. Method and Material: This study was conducted in three phases of descriptive, developmental and evaluation. In the first phase, data elements and decision-making rules were determined based on the rule-based reasoning method. In the second phase, the system was created based on intelligent methods and expert system algorithms, including decision trees. In the evaluation phase, the system was evaluated based on the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, applicability, performance, aesthetics, information quality, completeness and doctor's errors rate. Results: 51 data elements were selected for data collection. A comprehensive decision-making framework and model were determined for assessing the severity and determination therapeutic trend. The system was created based on intelligent methods and expert system algorithms, including decision trees. The evaluation results showed that performance and quality of the system were acceptable and the quality of documentation increased and medical errors decreased. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that the designed system was useful in severity assessment and therapeutic trend determination of acute stroke patient. Therefore, the existence of an information system in the field of acute stroke, that will guide the medical staff in assessing the severity of the illness and selection the appropriate therapeutic trend for the patient, leads to physicians empowering, reducing medical errors and improving the treatment process and quality of emergency services.en_US
