"In recent years, the pathophysiology of intracranial (cerebral) aneurysms has been explored by several studies and multiple factors involved in the formation and rupture of intracranial aneurysms have been identified. Currently, researches indicate that the reninangiotensin system (RAS) is one of the many factors potentially involved in the pathogenesis of intracranial aneurysms. This chapter discusses the pathogenesis of intracranial aneurysms, the nature and pathophysiology of the RAS, and how the RAS, specifically the brain RAS, plays a role in the pathogenesis of intracranial aneurysms." © 2013 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
