چکیده
Electromagnetic fields as an environmental factor could affect biological systems. At the present study the effect of electromagnetic field on histological features of Fallopian tubes has been investigated. For this purpose rats were exposed to 50 Gauss electromagnetic field for 3 months and 4 hours/day. After this period, 1/2 of the experimental and control rats were sacrificed and specimens from fallopian tubes were processed for microscopic studies. The remaining rats were injected with 15 Iu hMG, sacrificed 48 hours later and specimens from fallopian tubes were treated as first half. Histological studies revealed that fallopian tubes in control group were lined with ciliated simple columnar epithelium. Where as in experimental group the epithelial cells were low columnar and mostly had lost their cilia. Injection of hMG did not produce a remarkable changes on histological features of fallopian tubes. It is concluded that electromagnetic field could interfere with zygote transfer and early embryonic development.
