The prevalence of peri-implant diseases in a private practive implant patient in 2014

Abstract

Determination of Inflammatory disease prevalence among patients referring to private section Introduction: implant-based treatments have caused wide differences in dentistry. In spite of most success in tooth implant, most physicians face different problems of soft and osteoid tissues. Prie-implant diseases are inflammatory conditions which influence supporting soft and osteoid implants which includes Mucositis and prie-implant. The aim of present investigation is to determine pre-implant disease prevalence among patients referred to private section. Methodology: in this descriptive sectional investigation, all patients referring to dental implant treatment since 2008-2012 were included. Studying profile of the patients indicated that all patients suffering from pre-implant were elicited to calculate it prevalence. Results: in this investigation 51.2% of participants were healthy, 36.2% were mucosites and 12.6% were suffering from pre-implant disease. There was a statistical significant difference between Mucositis group and, healthy people and pre-implant disease from gender and disease history aspects. Moreover compared to healthy people, pre-implant patients were significantly smoking, had higher body mass and previous disease history. There was a negative relationship between periodontal disease incidence and gender and disease history and there was appositive relationship between periodontal disease and smoking. Conclusion: there is a relationship between inflammatory disease incidence, gender, smoking experience and disease history. More accurate investigation of men and smokers who are treated by implement is proposed.
