Knowledge of Tabriz school health teachers with regards to emergency management of dental trauma in 2009

Abstract

Dental injuries are common during sport activities and schools where children spend most of their time every day emergency management in the cases is critical . This management can be made, not only by a dentist but by people who are present where the accident occurs The purpose f this study was to evaluate the knowledge of Tabriz school health teachers with regards to emergency management of dental trauma in 2009. Meterials and Methods: This study was performed by cross sectional descriptional method. statistical group consist of 61 Tabriz school health teachers. Questionairs that was distributed among them Obtained informations were analyzed by using descriptional statistical tests and T- test and in fection controls SPSS/13. Results: The average score obtained by men was 5.28 and for weomen was 5.78 that was not statistically significance. 64% of school health teachers obtained poor score (1-5) .There was not relationship between time spent from graduation and knowledge of school health teachers. Conclusion: this study showed the lack of knowledge of school health teachers about educational campaigns are necessary to improve the emergency management of dental trauma .
