Evaluation of Knowledge of Dentists in Tabriz about Implants treatment Planning

Abstract

Based on data available request for dental implants is ever-increasing in Iran parallel with that in other countries. Therefore, dentists are required to increase their awareness about this treatment modality. The aim of the present study was to evaluate Tabriz general denal practitioners(GDPs) awareness about dental implants. Materials and methods: In this descriptive, cross-sectional study 272 dentists were evaluated among GDPs.The questionnaire was made by the researcher and its reliability and validity was proven. Data was analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistical methods and SPSS.21 software. Results: The mean knowledge grade of GDPs was 19.4 (1.1% of GDPs have the poor knowledge level, 79% moderate, and 19.9% were good). The analysis revealed a significant difference between the knowledge of GDPs with different clinical experience, gender and participating in implant courses. (P<0.05). Conclusion: Totally, the knowledge level of Tabriz GDPs were at moderate levels
