Comparison of nasal tip changes between a new method tip plasty with the conventional sheen graft tip plasty

Abstract

Nasal tip management is the most important and challenging part of rhinoplasty surgery. Control over nasal tip projection is essential in rhinoplasty. There are a variety of techniques that can beused to enhance or improve the nasal tip. The aim of this study was Comparison of nasal tip changes between a new method tip plasty with the conventional sheen graft tip plasty. Methods: In a clinical trail that performed on person who referred for rhinoplasty in department of Oral & maxillofacial surgery of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences , Comparison of nasal tip changes between a new method tip plasty with the conventional sheen graft tip plasty evaluated. Result and conclusion: Mean of Tip Projection at before surgery in patients of groups A and B was 28.92 4.16 and 26.95 7.30, respectively. Mean of Tip Projection at after surgery in patients of groups A and B was 33.00 3.86 and 31.29 6.35, respectively. Significant difference was not found between Tip Projection of patients in two groups at before and after surgery. Mean of Tip Rotation at before surgery in patients of groups A and B was 114.10 7.53 and 113.08 9.94, respectively. Mean of Tip Rotation at after surgery in patients of groups A and B was 119.46 7.21 and 117.58 8.92, respectively. Significant difference was not found between Tip Rotation of patients in two groups at before and after surgery. Significant increase was found in Tip Projection and Tip Rotation of Group A and B patients at after surgery to before surgery.
