Abstract
Abstract Background and Objective: Job stress is one of the problems of health careers and the employees of this department have a higher level of job-related anxiety than other professions. In addition, various illnesses related to job stress, the intention of employees to leave the job, reduced patient satisfaction, misdiagnosis are also complications of work-related stress. Material and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study, the level of job stress in emergency medical technicians of East Azerbaijan province and its relationship with the parameters of blood pressure, blood glucose and gastrointestinal disorders was investigated. The study population is all emergency medical technicians of 115 emergency stations in East Azerbaijan province, which is checked as an available sample and the job stress is determined using the HSE job stress questionnaire and blood glucose and blood pressure are measured directly and gastrointestinal problems and demographic information are collected according to the self-reported information. The collected data are entered into SPSS ver.22 and in addition to determining the amount of job stress in each of its areas, its relation with diabetes, hypertension and gastrointestinal disorders is analyzed. Result: The results of this study showed that there was no significant relationship between job stress and its components with systolic and diastolic blood pressure and blood glucose and gastrointestinal diseases and cardiovascular disorders (except for the significant effect of the link component on heart vascular disease) in the presence of underlying intervention, which could be due to the relatively young age of the study participants, insufficient time to deal with job stress, and the effect of a healthy workforce (only healthier technicians were able to be recruited and entered in this job). Conclusion: According to the results, the job stress of the medical emergency technicians studied was assessed as unfavorable in the subgroup of manager support but favorable in the subgroup of role. Futher studies are needed to judge about the relationship between job stress and various health disorders in this area.
