Evaluation of Fis-1 and miR-484 expression level in tumor samples and healthy tumor margins in lung cancer
Abstract
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are recognized as an essential controller of gene expression and other activities of the cells. Also, miRNAs have a critical role in the progression and growth of human malignancies. miRNA- 484 and Fis-1 gen have a significant role in lung cancer. The aim of the current study is to determine the expression level of miRNA-484 and Fis-1 gen in NSCLC patients.
Materials and Methods: In this research, forty-five pairs of tumor and non-tumor tissue of NSCLC patients were separated by the surgeon. Then, miRNA-484 and Fis-1 gene expression level in tissues was evaluated. We used TRIzol to extract total RNA from tumor and non-tumor tissues and after that complementary DNA was synthesized. The miRNA-484 and Fis-1 gene expression level was evaluated via the qRT-PCR technique. Moreover, the clinicopathological features of NSCLC patients were evaluated.
Results: We revealed that miRNA-484 and Fis-1 gene expression level was up-regulated and down-regulated in NSCLC tissues in comparison to non-tumor tissues, considerably. Remarkably, the miRNA-484 and Fis-1 gene expression level was considerably correlated to the clinicopathological characteristic of patients including lymph nodes and distant metastasis.
