The expression level of the Peptidyl arginine deiminase (PAD4) in women with recurrent implantation failure (RIF) compared to healthy individuals
Abstract
About 17% of couples worldwide suffer from infertility conditions, with RIF being one of the most common possible cases, and PADs are increasingly associated with reproductive processes in non-reproductive tissues. Hence, it is interesting that the activities that can be mediated by PAD play an important role in the female reproductive system. The purpose of this study is to investigate the frequency of this factor and its result in RIF patients.
Materials and methods:
This research was a case-control study and the target population was women with repeated implantation failure who referred to Valiasr International Hospital in Tabriz in 1401. The final sample size in this study was 100 people, which were divided into two groups of 50 people (women with repeated implantation failure) and 50 people (healthy pregnant women or healthy women without pregnancy).
Results:
In this study, the results showed that the expression level of PAD4 factor at the gene and protein level in patients has a significant increase compared to healthy people. Also, serum markers of neutrophil degranulation, including neutrophil elastase (NE), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and citH3, are significantly increased in the serum of patients.
