comparison of pediatric stroke incidence rates in developing and developed countries, systematic review
Abstract
Stroke is increasingly recognized as a cause of childhood disability. Historical perceptions that children recover well from stroke have been contradicted by recent outcome studies documenting high rates of lifelong complications. The aim of this systematic study is to investigate the incidence of stroke in children in developing and developed countries.
Methods: In this comprehensive and systematic review study, all the main articles were related to the incidence of stroke in children. In this study, all the articles were searched through PubMed, EMBASE, Google Scholar, Scopus and WOS databases from January 2000 to They entered the study in December 2023. Also, in the search strategy, only articles written in English or Persian articles written in English were included.
In this study, the etiology of stroke in children has been investigated
Result:From the 878 extracted studies, after reviewing the studies and removing similar studies and unrelated studies, 13 studies were finally left, of which 8 studies were related to developing countries and 5 studies were related to developed countries. In the studies conducted in developed countries, the incidence rate was between 1.5 and 3 patients per 100,000 people, and the incidence rate in developing countries was also the same.
