The Study of Factors Affecting the Virtual Knowledge Exchange by Faculty Members of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences

Abstract
Abstract Introduction: Purposeful sharing and exchange of knowledge in organizations lead to faster individual and organizational learning, enhances creativity, and ultimately improves individual and organizational performance. The aim of this research was to study the factors influencing virtual knowledge exchange by faculty members of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Research method: The present study was descriptive-analytical and survey-based. The statistical population of this research consisted of 865 faculty members of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. According to Morgan's table, a sample size of 265 was obtained, and ultimately 195 questionnaires were collected. Sampling was done randomly. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data. Pearson correlation and regression were used to test the research hypotheses. SPSS software was used for data analysis. Findings: The results showed that faculty members' perceptions of the benefits of knowledge exchange, self-efficacy in information technology, and organizational culture have a significant positive impact on virtual knowledge exchange by faculty members of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. However, perceptions of the ease of knowledge exchange and perceived ease of knowledge sharing do not have a significant impact on virtual knowledge exchange by faculty members of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Conclusion: The present study suggests the use of a developed technology acceptance model to identify factors influencing knowledge exchange among faculty members. One of the most important factors and parts of knowledge management that forms the basis of many knowledge management strategies is knowledge exchange or sharing. Knowledge exchange or voluntary sharing of skills and acquired experiences to other individuals. The power to encourage exchange and create knowledge to recognize their competitive advantages. Various factors influence the behavior of faculty members in knowledge exchange, the most prominent of which were identified and presented in a conceptual model in this study. The results of this study, given the importance of knowledge exchange, can be of interest to managers, policymakers, and designers of knowledge exchange platforms.
