Assessment of outcomes in distal hypospadias repair by Snodgrass method with and without Urethral plate incision
Abstract
Considering that so far no standard surgical method has been introduced for hypospadias surgery and on the other hand, despite the fact that it is recommended to perform Snodgrass incision to increase the surface of the duct floor, this study was designed to Assessment of outcomes in distal hypospadias repair by Snodgrass method with and without Urethral plate incision.
Method: 60 children with distal hypospadias were included. Children entered one of the groups with urethral plate incision and without urethral plate incision and underwent surgery. The results of the treatment and its complications were examined for 6 months in the patients and compared between the two groups.
Findings : In our study, fistulas were observed in 11.7% of cases, all of which were single subcoronal type. From the point of view of cordi, penile torsion , change of scrotal position, condition of glans and width of urethral plate, HOSE score, average score of VAS and VAS, shape of Meatus, urine flow, erection, presence of uterocutaneous fistula, occurrence of complications on the first day after surgery and after From the first week and the first, third and sixth month, there was no significant difference between the two study groups (P>0.05). In the surgical group with U plate incision, the length of the urethral plate after surgery was longer than before surgery.
