Abstract
Hypospadias surgery is one of the most common pediatric surgeries. Considering the many methods of hypospadias treatment, evaluation of treatment results has always been one of the challenging cases of hypospadias. As a result, to reduce the amount of difference in reporting the results of hypospadias surgery, several questionnaires have been designed, one of the most common in the world is the HOPE questionnaire. According to our investigations and the fact that the reliability and validity of the Persian HOPE questionnaire has not been investigated before, it was decided to do this work. methods and materials First, the questionnaire was translated into Farsi by two urologists. Then, the questionnaire was translated from Persian to English by an English language expert who was familiar with medical concepts, and finally, this translated questionnaire was compared with the original questionnaire and its defects were removed. Then the questionnaire was delivered to 8 specialists in pediatrics, urology and pediatric surgery to comment on the validity of submission, and the images of 42 patients after hypospadias surgery were given to them to determine their score, and the same was repeated a week later. Results In our study, the level of content validity for the HOPE questionnaire translated into Persian was high. Also, the intra-observer reliability for the HOPE questionnaire translated into Persian was 0.98 and the inter-observer reliability was 0.89, which indicates the high reliability of this questionnaire in Persian.
