Abstract
Abstract: This study aims to investigate the work engagement of nurses working in emergency wards of educational medical centers in Tabriz in 2022 and its relationship with interpersonal conflicts and job resources. Nurses in emergency wards are exposed to a higher risk of occupational injuries compared to other wards due to the fast-paced work environment, high workload, fatigue, and increased stress levels. Work engagement is considered as a factor that leads to effective work engagement, increased energy, creativity, and reduced errors and incidents in the nursing profession. Therefore, this research will analyze the level of work engagement among emergency wards nurses and examine its correlation with interpersonal conflicts and job resources. Methodology: This study is a cross-sectional correlational descriptive study conducted on 250 employed nurses working in the emergency wards of hospitals in Tabriz city in the year 1401. The sampling method used was proportional stratified sampling. Data collection was done using a four-part questionnaire, including a demographic and social characteristics form for participants, a Work engagement questionnaire, interpersonal conflicts questionnaire and a job resources questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS statistical software version 22 through descriptive and analytical statistical methods. The significance level was set at 0.05. Findings: The study results indicated that the level of Work engagement and the amount of job resources among nurses were average. The results also showed a statistically significant positive correlation between Work engagement and the amount of job resources for nurses (r = .36, p < .05). There was no significant statistical correlation between interpersonal conflicts and the amount of job resources (r = -0.113, p = 0.074). Furthermore, a statistically significant and inverse relationship was found between interpersonal conflicts and the level of Work engagement (r = -.232, p < .05). Discussion and Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, Work engagement in nurses is directly related to the presence or absence of job resources, as an increase in job resources leads to an increase in Work engagement. On the other hand, considering the scarcity of job resources in healthcare facilities, managers and officials in healthcare centers can take positive actions towards enhancing nurses' Work engagement by utilizing the results of this study and implementing appropriate planning and effective training methods.
