Acceptability of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) among hospital staff based on Tptancechnology Accee Model (TAM)
Abstract
Abstract
Introduction: Today, all organizations are interested in the applications of modern technology, because using technology often helps them to provide better service at lower cost. However, managers are faced with the issue of end users’ unwillingness to use the systems.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the acceptability of Radio Frequency Identification Technology among hospital’ staff based on the Technology Acceptance Model.
Methods and Materials: This study was a descriptive analysis survey. The study sample consisted of 443 personnel of Hospital. Using classification method with proportional allocation, sample size was determined. Measurement tool (questionnaire) of this study was standard and its reliability was approved. For calculations three application; SPSS 23, Lisrel 2.2 and Excel 2343 were used in this study.
Findings: In the assessment Variable of “Intention To Use’’ the RFID, all regressions were significant. Estimation of variable parameters such as “Perceived Usefulness” , “ Systemic Factors” and “ Perceived Ease of Use” were in one level and they all had 3.44
parameter estimation. Variable of “ The privacy” accounted for the lowest estimation 3.49 and "Attitude Towards the Use" which was the strongest variable, accounted for the highest estimation 3.42 .
Conclusion: Factors affecting the acceptance of RFID technology are different among hospital staff. One of the evident findings of this study was the concern of people over “their privacy” .Therefore, the principles of privacy must be considered in the implimenation of such programs.
Furthermore, the findings of this study showed that,’’Attitude toward the Use” was the strongest factor, which means ,to have the desire to use, one’s must first have right attitude.Better understanding of these factors will help hospital officials and executives, by considering the expectations of employees, take effective steps toward implementation and development of RFID technology to promote efficiency and prevent waste of resources.
