Comparing the Efficacy of Intraperitoneal Marcaine and Intravenous Acetaminophen for Postoperative Pain Relief After Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Surgery
Abstract
Although the pain intensity of laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery is less compared to open cholecystectomy surgery, some patients still experience significant discomfort within 24-72 hours after the operation, which can delay their discharge. throw Therefore, our aim in this study is to compare the postoperative analgesia of intraperitoneal marcaine (bupivacaine hydrochloride) with intravenous acetaminophen in laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery in Imam Reza Hospital, Tabriz, so that by providing a suitable method, the level of analgesia and patient satisfaction after surgery can be determined.
Methods: This study is a randomized clinical trial in which 100 patients who were admitted to Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz for cholecystectomy were included in the study. Patients were randomly divided into two groups. In the Markain group, Markain was used intraperitoneally and in the acetaminophen group, intravenous acetaminophen was used for analgesia after cholecystectomy surgery, and finally, the results of these two groups were compared.
Results: The comparison of pain intensity at different hours indicated that there was no statistically significant difference in pain intensity between the two groups at any of the examined times; The greatest difference in pain intensity between the two groups was in the sixth hour and the lowest difference in pain intensity was in the first hour after surgery; The comparison of the amount of injected analgesic drug indicated that in any of the measured times, the injected analgesic drug did not have a statistically significant difference between the two groups; The first time of needing painkillers was 4.2±39.29 hours after surgery for acetaminophen group patients and 4.11±1.89 hours after surgery for Markain group patients (P=0.259). The incidence of nausea and vomiting at different times measured between the two groups also indicated that there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups..
