Abstract
In emergency medical systems (EMS), arrival time is an important factor in determining the prognosis of injured people. As a result, in recent decades, motor ambulances are used in these systems more than before. The present study was conducted with the aim of descriptive-analytical investigation of motor ambulance services for Tabriz metropolis based on available data obtained from pre-hospital emergency center and dispatch center. Method: In this study, which is a descriptive-analytical study in Tabriz city during the years 2017-2021, all the information, including the request to send the code (ambulance engine) to the location and the documentation of the accident and the patients recorded in the mission sheet of the pre-hospital emergency personnel and the dispatch center during the year 2017-2021, are extracted and entered into the designed checklist. Then the data of different years were compared with each other in terms of arrival time of the ambulance engine, number of services and compared with ambulance and triage services. Results: In this study, there were 9866 missions related to Motorlance during the study period. The average age of the patients was 52.18 ± 19.17 years. In terms of gender, 6619 (67.1%) of the patients were male and 3247 (32.9%) of the patients were female. The average reaction time was 68.24 ± 62.91 seconds. The median reaction time was 52 seconds. The average response time was 641.70 ± 304.48 seconds. The average response time was 612 seconds. The highest number of missions during the study period was carried out in 2019. The most common main complaint of patients using Motorlance services included 4480 cases of weakness and lethargy. The lowest times studied in the missions in terms of response time were related to patients with cardio-respiratory arrest and the highest response time was related to patients with drug poisoning. There was a statistically significant difference in response time among the various complaints of the studied patients.
