Abstract
Abstract Introduction: Workload and the feeling of job burnout is one of the main factors in reducing productivity in organizations and causing physical and mental complications in employees, and it is common among healthcare workers today. On the other hand, it is very important to feel satisfied with your current job and life without the intention to leave job. It seems that nurses are exposed to increased workload due to being on the front line of treatment and dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, followed by burnout and intention to leave job. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the workload of nurses during the outbreak of Covid-19 and its relationship with job burnout and intention to leave job. Methodology: This is a descriptive research that was conducted on 250 nurses in Sina and Imam Reza Hospitals (Corona Referral) in Tabriz in 1400. Data were collected through the questionnaires of demographic characteristics, workload (NASA TLX), Maslach burnout and intention to leave job of Kim et al. (2007) and were analyzed using SPSS/v24. Results: The results showed that the average score of workload and burnout was in the high range and intention to leave job was in the medium range. There was a direct and significant relationship between workload and job burnout and intention to leave job and between job burnout and intention to leave job (P<0.05). Also, workload and job burnout and intention to leave job were more among nurses working in corona wards than other nurses. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed the importance of paying attention to the workload of nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the direct correlation between workload and job burnout and intention to leave job in nurses, This job requires the adoption of optimal management solutions to reduce the workload in order to prevent the costs caused by burnout and intention to leave job of nurses on health care systems while promoting health and keeping nurses in the health system.
