Abstract
Melanoma is caused by the uncontrolled growth of skin melanocyte cells. This malignancy is highly lethal due to the high power of cell metastasis. Epidemiological studies around the world indicate an increase in the annual onset rate of this disease in the world. On the other hand, unlike most cancers, not much attention has been paid to the pathogenesis and pathways involved in the process of this fatal disease. In this direction and to improve the understanding of the molecular pathways that cause melanoma, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the expression profile of LINC01111, miR-3924 and the expression level of DUSP1 in melanoma tumor and margin adenocarcinoma samples. Methods: Tissue samples, including 50 melanoma cancer tissue samples and 50 margin tissue samples, were prepared and subjected to RNA extraction. Complementary DNA was synthesized and then the expression levels of the studied genes were measured using q-PCR. In addition, the relationship between the expression of the studied genes with each other and the clinical pathological characteristics of the patients was evaluated. Results: The results obtained from q-PCR showed that the two investigated targets, namely LINC01111 and DUSP1, have a significant increase and decrease, respectively, in a tumor sample compared to the margin (p>0.05). This is despite the decrease in the The expression of miR-3924 increased in tumor samples compared to healthy tissue, but the increase was not statistically significant (p < 0.05). In addition, the expression of DUSP1 had a negative correlation with both studied genes, but there was a correlation between the expression of LINC01111 and the expression miR-3924 did not.
