چکیده
Acute appendicitis is one of the most important emergencies in abdominal surgery, and correct and timely diagnosis can reduce the amount of unpleasant complications. Ultrasound is an effective diagnostic tool for appendicitis that needs improvement. The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the results and consequences of seeing disruption in the submucosal hyperechoic layer of the appendix in acute appendicitis ultrasound. Methods: The statistical population of this descriptive-cross-sectional study included all children referred to the radiology department of Tabriz Children's Hospital, who had dissection in the submucosal layer of the appendix in ultrasound. All of them, 47 people, entered the study after providing the necessary explanations about the objectives of the study and obtaining informed consent from the parents in an accessible manner. The patients were followed up in terms of the results of medical and surgical treatments (only the presence of appendicitis, collection with appendicitis or no need for surgery). The obtained information was analyzed with statistical tests. Results: The average age of the study subjects was 8.36 ± 2.56 years. 40 people (85.1%) had no collection and 7 people (14.9%) had appendix collection. In the radiological evaluation, 17 people (36.2%) were diagnosed with acute appendicitis, 16 people (34%) with perforated appendicitis, and 14 people (29.8%) with appendicitis without the need for surgery, while in the surgical evaluation, 34 people (3.3%) were diagnosed. 72%) were diagnosed with acute appendicitis, 2 (4.3%) with perforated appendicitis and 11 (23.4%) without the need for surgery (significance level less than 0.0001).
