چکیده
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality among children and adults worldwide. Among known viral agents, adenoviruses of strains 1,2 and 5 account for 5-10% of viral infections caused by special agents in children, people with immune systems, and soldiers in barracks. Adenoviruses cause disease in the upper and lower parts of the system, conjunctivitis and intestinal-digestive problems. Adenoviruses are seen in many problems associated with acute illnesses diagnosed in children under 4 years of age, adults over 65 years of age, immunocompromised individuals, transplant recipients, and others. Despite the frequency of this disease in patients with the disease and its high prevalence, there is a very limited report of the condition of this disease in patients reported in Iran. Material and Method: The target population in this project is adults (over 15 years old) suffering from acute respiratory infection. During a period of 6 months from the beginning of December to the end of May of this year, a total of 80 suspicious samples were collected from the Sheikh Al Rayis medical clinic. Sampling was done using Dacron swabs from the nasal passages, pharynx, and nasopharynx of the studied subjects. After extracting the DNA from the Hexon virus genome from the available samples, and checking the results using the Real-Time PCR method, the desired virus has been tracked. Results: In this research, 70 pharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swab samples were collected from adults suffering from acute respiratory tract infection referring to Tabriz Sheikh Al Rayis Clinic, of which 48 were men and 32 were women. The studied age group was from 18 to 60 years of people with acute respiratory symptoms. None of the studied subjects had adenovirus in their samples. Also, in this study, there was no significant relationship between the age and gender of people with contracting this virus.
