Title: comparison of effectiveness of face to face and telephone based counseling with EXPLISSIT approach on marital interaction and quality of life of women attending health centers of Tabriz city during covid 19 epidemy: A Quasi-experimental studyIntroduction: Sexual satisfaction is one of the important factors of physical and mental health and improves the strength of the family. In the beginning of 2020, along with the COVID-19 epidemy, government policies, such as quarantine and social distancing caused by it have led to anxiety, anger, stress and withdrawal in people and have had a negative impact on physical and mental health and the quality and quantity of marital relationships and led to an increase in problems in marital interaction. Therefore, this study was conducted to compare the effect of telephone and face-to-face counseling with the Explicit approach on women's marital interactions.Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted in 1400 in Tabriz health centers on women aged 18 to 40. After extracting the list, the individuals were checked by telephone in terms of meeting the study iclusion criteria and invited to a face-to-face meeting if they wished. In this meeting, first the sexual performance questionnaire was filled out and the goals and study method and the steps of the study implementation were explained to them, and informed consent was obtained, and pre-test questionnaires including demographics, quality of sexual life, and marital satisfaction were also completed, using the method They were randomly divided into two groups (face-to-face and telephone counseling groups) with a 1:1 allocation ratio and were included in the study.Face-to-face counseling was held during a 60-90 minute meeting, and a 60-90 minute telephone consultation. The number of sessions was according to the need and a maximum of 3 sessions. After 8 weeks after the last counseling session, all participants were re-evaluated in terms of sexual function, marital satisfaction and quality of sexual life and satisfaction with counseling.Findings: Based on the General linear model test, the average total score of sexual function after the intervention in the face-to-face counseling group (adjusted mean difference = 1.163 and 95% confidence interval = 0.42 to 1.90) by controlling the effect of the baseline score It was significantly more than the telephone counseling group (p=0.002).The mean (standard deviation) of the overall score of marital satisfaction after the intervention in the face-to-face counseling group (adjusted mean difference = 6.575 and 95% confidence interval = 1.483 to 11.668) by controlling the effect of the base score is significantly higher than the group It was a telephone consultation (p=0.012).Also, the average score of the quality of sexual life after the intervention in the face-to-face and telephone counseling group (adjusted mean difference = 2.15 and 95% confidence interval = -0.8 to 5.11) was not statistically significantly different when controlling for the effect of the baseline score. (p=0.161). Conclusion: Counseling with an EXPLISSIT approach in both face-to-face and telephone methods improves sexual function, marital satisfaction and quality of sexual life.
