The effect of Thermal Endometrial Ablation in the Treatment of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding Compared with Electrical Ablation
Abstract
Uncontrollable uterine bleeding is a frequent clinical issue that significantly increases the workload of gynecologists. Any alteration in the frequency, volume, or pattern of a woman's regular bleeding is referred to as abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB). A variety of techniques are used in endometrial ablation to address heavy and irregular bleeding. There are several ablation techniques, but the two most used ones are electrical and thermal ablation.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of endometrial ablation in reducing irregular uterine bleeding using two different types of thermal and electrical ablation.
Materials and methods: This study is cross-sectional, and all patients who underwent electrical and thermal destruction of the endometrium owing to abnormal uterine bleeding from last two years examined. Questionnaires that cover all of the treatment's productive characteristics have been utilized to gather data. Using SPSS software, the acquired data are analysed.
Results: This study's findings revealed that several factors reflecting the effectiveness of therapy using electrical and thermal ablation procedures do not differ significantly from one to another. This study also demonstrated the efficacy, therapeutic value, and extremely high patient satisfaction of these practices.
