Abstract
Introduction: Covid-19 is a new disease that causes many problems in people and can spread from person to person. It has been reported that patients with this infection have mild to severe respiratory problems with common symptoms of shortness of breath, fever and cough. Objective: To evaluate the treatment protocol of patients with covid-19 and compare it with standard guidelines in the covid-19 related departments of Sina Tabriz Hospital. Methods: During a period of about one year, 1000 patients were randomly selected from among the patients with covid-19 referred and hospitalized in Sina Hospital and using pre-prepared checklists that contained the necessary demographic information in dealing with covid-19 patients. Compliance of treatment regimens performed in the hospital with the standard guideline was examined.Result: Based on the findings of this study, the use of systemic antibiotics to control hospital-acquired pneumonia and community-acquired pneumonia was correct and reasonable in all cases. Fever was controlled in 94.6% of patients. Also, receiving deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis in 96.47% and receiving peptic ulcer prophylaxis due to stress in all patients was reasonable and according to the standard protocol. It should be noted that the use of corticosteroids to control the inflammation caused by the disease was correct and reasonable in 73.89% of cases. Also, patients with a deficiency of minerals and nutrients have received medicinal food supplements, and the rationality of taking supplements such as vitamins has been discussed at the discretion of a specialist doctor and according to the national protocol of the Ministry of Health. Conclusion: Based on this study, the drugs received by the patients for prophylaxis and treatment were consistent with the standard guidelines to an acceptable extent. In order to determine the appropriate treatment regimen, it is necessary to check the risk factors and the patient's conditions, and the experts should make the necessary evaluations.
