The predictive value of SATIS in stroke patients
Abstract
Stroke is third cause of death worldwide and its occurrence imposes a great health burden on societies. There is no definitive method to evaluate the condition of patients with this disease. Currently, the mRS method is standard method for evaluating the clinical severity of the disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the predictive effect of SATIS in stroke patients.
Method: Among the stroke patients hospitalized in Imam Rezai Hospital in Tabriz between 2019 and 2021, 268 patients were randomly selected and evaluated. After applying the entry and exit criteria, 135 patients were included in the study. mRS score at the beginning and end of hospitalization and the mRS and SATIS scores of the follow-up patients were calculated.
Results: average age of patients participating in this study was 63.33 years. The average mRS score at the beginning of hospitalization was 3. While the average score of mRS at end of hospitalization and during follow-up was equal to 2. The average SATIS score of the patients was 73. b. linear regression model showed a strong correlation between SATIS and mRS. Thus, based on this model, for each increase in the mRS score, the score of the SATIS questionnaire is reduced by 17.2 points on average. This relationship was stronger among female patients over 65 years old than other patients. comparing this relationship between patients with different annual incomes, patients with high incomes had highest relationship and patients with average incomes had the least relationship.
