Design and evaluation of Internet of Things-based medication review platform
Abstract
Introduction: Drug management is an important part of high-quality patient care in hospitals, nursing homes, and primary health care centers. In this regard, the use of methods such as drug consumption evaluation as the heart of drug interventions has received special attention. In drug consumption evaluation, the aim is to manage interventions in the field of medicine.
Internet of things (IoT) is a software network consisting of physical devices and sensors. The connection of information technology with medical science has affected health care, reduced costs, and increased efficiency. (IoT = Internet of things) is a software network consisting of physical devices and sensors. The connection of information technology with medical science has affected health care and has reduced costs and increased efficiency. The present study designs and evaluates a pharmaceutical review platform based on the (IoT).
Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of designing and evaluating a pharmaceutical review system based on IoT.
Method: the present study contains three general phases: review studies, designing and evaluation of the proposed system. In the first phase, according to the research question, the articles obtained from different databases without considering the time limitation, were examined. In the second phase, a system for monitoring drug side effects based on (drug review) was designed in the IoT platform using IoT frameworks. In the third phase, according to the real world scenarios, the designed platform was simulated in the laboratory environment.
Results: to design the drug management system, different architectures and platforms of IoT were examined, and finally a four-layer architecture and open source platform Viralink were selected with the approval of experts. Then, four different modules were designed to control entry and exit, sleep, medicine cabinet and urination frequency. The drug management system was evaluated in terms of hedonic and pragmatic measures, which innovation and motivation were excellent, reliability was good, and attractiveness and transparency were above average.
Conclusion: by designing health systems and drug management based on the IoT, a critical step can be taken in order to overcome the challenges in managing consumption and reducing drug side effects.
