Abstract
Title: Implementation of the program to promote safe behavior inside the car of Tabriz preschool children Introduction: The number of accidents among children is high and 186,300 children die in traffic accidents every year (more than 500 children per day or one child every 4 minutes). Also, accidents are the third cause of death of children under five years of age in Iran. One of the important solutions in this case is teaching safe behaviors, so the present study was conducted with the aim of implementing a program to promote safe behavior of children inside the preschool car in Tabriz city. Research method: This is a pre-test-post-test intervention study that was conducted on preschool children. The sampling method was multi –stage random.in this way,we chose two districts from among the multiple districts of Tabriz city. With random allocation in each control and intervention group, the sample size was equal to 160 people. The program of training sessions included 6 half-hour sessions for parents and children. In these sessions, depending on the answers of the pre-test stage and suitable answers for parents using traffic messages, videos and short clips, and for children using drawings, animated films, poems about safe behavior inside the car for children. became in the post-test phase, parents were again asked to complete the questionnaires. Findings: After the implementation of the educational intervention, a significant difference was observed in the performance of safe behaviors in the intervention and control groups. The unsafe behavior of the child sitting in the front seat was 62.8% in the intervention group (control group 0.27%), sitting on the passenger's lap. Front 32.4% (control group 0.23%), child standing in the back seats 0.38% (control group 0.7%), removing hands and body parts from car windows 0.84% (control group 30/6 %) has decreased. Conclusion: The present study shows the positive effect of the educational intervention based on the findings of the analysis. Which can bd useful for policy markers in the field of reducing the death and injury of children, parents, teachers and traffic experts.
