Comparison of proton pump inhibitors versus H2 blockers in liver disease: a systematic review
Abstract
Liver diseases are the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. Metabolism of many drugs are impaired in liver disease and there is no numerical estimation of liver function, therefore using drugs are challenging in patients with liver disease.and the purpose of the study is Comparison of proton pump inhibitors versus H2 blockers in liver disease
Method:
A systematic search of sources was conducted in order to compare proton pump inhibitors with H2 blockers in liver diseases was performed for meta-analysis and systematic review. p-value less than 5 percent was considered as a significant level.
Results:
In the systematic search of sources, 3705 articles were identified. Finally, 33 studies were included in this meta-analysis study. 93.94% of the articles had reported the outcome of Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP).
