Investigating the motivation and determining the factors affecting the choice of food consumed by citizens in the city of Tabriz in 1399
Abstract
Due to the prevalence of nutrition-related diseases, choosing the suitable food in different age groups is so necessary.In global markets and economies, understanding changes in food choice motivations in different countries and cultures is also important.Country or cuiture-specific differences in food selection motivations can be used to raise awareness of intervention to change food –related behaviors in different populations. Aim:This study was designed and implemented with the aim of achieving proper nutrition factors and recognizing the motivation for food selection and also examining the factors affecting its purchase and consumption among the people of Tabriz.
Materials and Methods: In a descriptive cross-sectional study, 209 researcher-made questionnaires are randomly distributed among volunteer citizens and information obtained in various domains such as health, price, weight control, taste and familiar were analyzed. Analysis was performed using EQS and SPSS softwares and ANOVA variance. and p value under five percent was found to be significant.Results: In this study, the number of volunteers was 209 and the demographic findings were 32% male and 68% female. Age between 19 and 57 years. Height 133 to 195 cm. Weight 48 to 148 kg. 68.9% Married and 31.1% Single. Level of education: 60% with a master's degree and income of 32.5% was in the range of two to forty million tomans.
Information and food prices and weight control in different occupational groups, information and health at different levels of education, and information and prices at different incomes, are significant.Conclusion:This study indicates that our researcher-made questionnaire can properly determine the motivation and factors affecting food selection.
