Abstract
Background : Studies have shown that cardiovascular disease are still the number one cause of death in the world . Considering the anti-inflammatory effects of Colchicine and the fact that inflammatory factors increase in heart failure ‚this study was designed to investigate the effect of Colchicine in reducing these inflammatory factors and as a result reducing the symptoms of heart failure and improving the quality of life of heart failure patients.Aim : The general aim of the project is to investigate the quality of life of heart failure patients treated with Colchicine. Methods : This study was conducted as a non-blinded randomized clinical trial and pilot in Shahid Madani Cardiac Hospital of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. We selected 60 heart failure patients with the same conditions in terms of the disease and randomly divided them into two groups of 30 people (Control and intervention ). The control group only received standard and routine treatment and the intervention group received Colchicine in addition to routine treatment. Then, the quality of life of the patients in the base, first and third month was checked using the KCCQ questionnaire and analyzed in the SPSS software.Findings : In this study, 58 patients with heart failure. In this study, the quality of life of the patients in the baseline and the first month was not significantly related to each other, but in the third month, the quality of life of the patients in the colchicine group was significantly higher than the control group (P=0.02).Conclusion : Administering Colchicine with an appropriate and effective dose along with other heart failure drugs can be an effective and helpful factor in reducing the symptoms of heart failure.
