The relationship between healthy eating index (HEI-2015) with metabolic factors and oxidative stress status in women with gallstone: a case-control study
Abstract
Although there was no statistically significant relationship between the HEI-2015 with any of the serum biomarkers in case and control groups, there was an inverse significant association between serum levels of HDL-c and phosphorus with the risk of gallstone. Also, there was a positive significant association between age, HOMA-IR index, serum levels of hs-CRP and Malondialdehyd with the risk of gallstone.
Conclusion: Due to lack of correlation between HEI-2015 and gallstone formation factors, it seems that more studies with more control of confounding factors and more accurate methods are needed in the future.
