Introduction: Organizational socialization is the process of learning the knowledge, skills, culture and tasks of an organization that people must learn to succeed in their job. Efforts to socialize in libraries are to achieve career success, and in this regard, it is not enough to just pay attention to one objective or subjective factor; Rather, the two must be considered together
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to "investigate the relationship between organizational socialization of librarians working in public and university libraries in Tabriz with their professional success."
Method and materials: This research is a descriptive-correlational study and the statistical population is librarians working in public and university libraries in Tabriz. Data collection tools were demographic questionnaires, Chao organizational socialization, and Herzberg career success. Data collection was done in university libraries in person and in public libraries in person and automation. To study the research variables, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used and due to the normality of the data, one-sample parametric T-test and Pearson correlation were used using SPSS software.
Results: The findings showed that the organizational socialization of librarians in both public and academic libraries is at a desirable level. On the other side, no positive relationship was observed between demographic characteristics and organizational socialization of librarians in both types of libraries. Also in both types of libraries, there was positive relationship between job success and organizational socialization.
Conclusion: If librarians learn the values of the organization and its norms and rules, and the organization transfers the necessary skills and information to them, and on the other hand, meeting the needs of librarians, both sensually and internally, as well as objectively and externally, causes Librarians will have better socialization and ultimately, their career success will increase.
