In the initial evaluation of burn patients, airway management, assessment of other injuries, estimation of burn extent, blood circulation, control of bleeding, evaluation of neurological damage, diagnosis of carbon monoxide and cyanide poisoning, and observation of the patient's entire body are performed. Objective: To evaluate the treatment protocol of burn patients and compare it with standard guidelines in the burn wards of Sina Hospital in Tabriz. Methods: During a two-year period, 344 patients were randomly selected from burn patients referred and hospitalized in Sina Hospital, using pre-prepared checklists that contained the necessary demographic information in dealing with burn patients. Compliance of treatment regimens performed in the hospital with the standard guideline was examined. Result: According to the findings of this study, the use of topical antibiotics in all patients and the use of systemic antibiotics in 82.20% of patients was correct and reasonable. The pain was controlled in 68% of patients and all patients received Vaselinated gauze as a dressing. Also, prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis in 56.55% of patients and prophylaxis of gastrointestinal ulcers due to stress in 28.89% of patients was reasonable and in accordance with the standard protocol. It should be noted that receiving ringer lactate serum for fluid therapy was also correct and reasonable in 62.79% of patients. Conclusion: According to this study, the drugs received by patients for prophylaxis and treatment with standard guideline were not completely consistent. In order to determine the appropriate regimen, it is necessary to study the risk factors and the patient's condition and make the necessary assessments by specialists.
