Evaluation of prognostic factor of ST depression resolution on mortality of patients undergoing PPCI
Abstract
Nowadays ischemic heart disease especially myocardial infarction is one of the most important preventable causes of mortality and morbidity all over the world, thus, evaluation of prognostic factors would help reducing burden of disease.
Method and material: In the present study we intended to investigate prognostic effect of ST depression resolution on mortality of patients with Acute STEMI undergoing successful PPCI. Between years 1396 & 1397, 1321 patients with Acute STEMI were admitted in Shahid Madani Hospital, whom ECGs were compared before and after PPCI. 800 patients had complete (more than 50%) ST elevation resolution besides including criteria. These patients were divided into 2 subgroups, more than 50% ST depression resolution and less, respectively including 594 (74.25%) and 206 (25.75%) patients.
Result: Statistical analysis showed that patients with ST depression resolution less than 50% had more in hospital mortality 4(1.9%) vs 0, and death during first year 12(5.8%) vs 12(2%). these patients also experienced more symptomatic heart failure during admission 35(17%) vs 12(2%), more re-admission 36(17.5%) vs 36(6.1%), more re-infarct 6(2.9%) vs 2(0.3%).
