Abstract
Introduction: Hypertension is one of the most common non-communicable diseases in the world. The aim of this study was to design and implement a community-based intervention program to promote awareness of hypertension and its risk factors in Namin city. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was performed on 274 individuals over 35 years of age with high blood pressure in Namin and Sarein health centers. The subjects of the intervention group were selected from Namin city, and the control group from Sarein city. Participants completed demographic and blood pressure awareness questionnaires after entering the study. The samples of the intervention city received training on the six dimensions of blood pressure for three months. All subjects completed the six-dimensional dimensions of blood pressure awareness after the intervention. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS-24 software and independent and paired t-tests. Significance level was considered P = 0.05. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of demographic-social characteristics and blood pressure awareness scores. Based on the independent t-test, a significant increase was observed in all six dimensions of blood pressure awareness after the intervention in the intervention group (P = 0.000). In the group comparison, there was a significant increase in all six dimensions in the intervention group (P = 0.000). This difference in the control group was only in the dimension of drug use (P = 0.001) and treatment (0.036). = P) was significant. There was a significant increase in blood pressure (P = 0.000). Conclusion: The results of the present study indicate the success of a community-based intervention program to promote awareness of hypertension and its risk factors in Namin city
