Effect of bibliotherapy on social problem-solving skills among normal children compared to the AD/HD children treated with methylphenidate

چکیده
Abstract Introduction: Individuals face many problems at all stages of social life. Social problem solving skills are one of the skills that can help solve unpredictable problems. Bibliotherapy is one of the new ways that can help people to cope with their problems and find solutions to their problem by modeling storytellers. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of bibliotherapy with focus on increasing the social problem solving skills in normal children with hyperactive / decentralized children under treatment with methylphenidate. Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial, a pre-test and post-test with control group, 50 children aged 6 to 8 years attending pre-school and elementary schools in Tabriz and 43 hypertensive children referred to psychiatric clinics selected and divided into intervention and control groups. Data were collected using a social problem solving questionnaire of VAALI. The statistical test used in this study was paired t-test and linear regression analysis, which was analyzed by STATA software version 13. Results: The results showed that the bibliotherapy, increased social problem solving skills of normal children and hyperactive children significantly (Pv <0.001), and this effect continued in one week after intervention in normal children. Conclusion: It can be concluded that bibliotherapy increase the level of social problem solving skills of children And hyperactivity disorder is one of the effective factors in the effectiveness of this intervention.
