چکیده
Strabismus is one of the most common ocular problems referred to ophthalmology clinics. Due to the nature of sensory exotropia, which prevents the restoration of binocular vision, the likelihood of recurrence of the eye in this disease is high. In cases where the eye is deviated again after correction, reoperation is difficult and due to adhesions caused by previous surgery, it is practically impossible to reach or resect the muscles based on the dose-effect table. On the other hand, it is difficult to predict the results after reoperation. Therefore, in this study, we examined the surgical results of patients who underwent lateral rectus muscle resection and medial rectus muscle resection. Methods: In this retrospective study, patients who underwent surgery with a diagnosis of sensory exotropia were studied. Demographic information such as age, sex, amount of eye deviation before and after surgery, type of surgery and duration of follow-up were analyzed. Success of surgery was defined as the residual exotropic deviation equal to or less than 10 prism diopters or isotropy equal to or less than 8 prism diopters. The information obtained will be interpreted and reported by spss software. Results: The mean age of patients was 24.56 12 12.04 years. Out of 54 patients studied, 21 (38.9%) were female and 33 (61.1%) were male. 22 patients (40.7%) were Traumatic cat and 14 patients (25.9%) were Cong Cat. Causes of strabismus were acquired in 30 patients (55.6%) and congenital in 24 patients (44.4%). The mean age at injury of acquired patients was 12.07 9 9.01 years. The mean logmar BCVA of patients was 1.62. 0.63. The mean age of onset of strabismus was 16.94. 9.01 years. The mean interval between the onset of strabismus and surgery was 7.34 27 7.27 years, the mean res was 8.43 ± 1.01 years, and the mean MR res was 5.61. 0.7 years. IOOA was registered for three people and 1 person had SOOA = 2. In total, out of 54 patients with sensory exotropia, the results of the operation were successful in 42 patients (77.7%) and failed in 12 patients (22.2%). The mean rate of near deviation (DP) of patients before surgery was 38.91 73 1.73, after surgery 2.70 73 0.73, 1.5 months after surgery 2.46 0 0.71, 3 months after surgery 75 3.06 0 0.06, 6 months after the operation 4.69 4 1.04, one year after the operation was 6.70 04 1.04 and at the end of the visit was 8.91 1 1.11, there was a significant difference There was a statistically significant difference between before and after surgery (P <0.001). Mean distance deviation (DP) of patients before surgery was 42.50 93 1.93, after surgery 0.04 04 0.04, 1.5 months after surgery 2.76 44 0.44, 6 months after surgery 56 4.78. 0. and one year after surgery was 6.96 71 0.71, there was a statistically significant difference between before and after surgery (P <0.001). The minimum follow-up time was 21 months and the maximum was 108 months and the average was 39.42 19 19.54 months.
