چکیده
The most common cause of IP recurrence is treatment failure, incomplete resection of the tumor or insufficient margin removal during resection. The risk of tumor recurrence is related to the type of surgery chosen; The highest recurrence rates reported in limited surgeries include polypectomy, conventional ethmoidectomy, sphenoidectomy, and Caldwell-Luc surgery. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to determine the association of malignancy or recurrence with the site of invert papilloma. Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, all patients who underwent surgery for invert papilloma between 1389 and 1399 were included in the study. Study information was extracted from patients' clinical records. IP cases were divided into three groups based on the history of surgery in the past: Primary, Residual and Recurrent. Patients after surgery were divided into three groups based on the type of surgery performed: endoscopic surgery, external surgery and combined approaches. The onset of malignancy in patients was based on the pathology results of the biopsy specimen. Surgical complications in patients were classified according to the Calvien-Dindo classification. Results: The mean age of patients was 54.96 17 17.53 years and the majority (65.2%) were male. Of the 23 patients studied, 14 (60.9%) had papilloma invert and 9 (39.1%) had papilloma invert without dysplasia. 6 patients (26.1%) had tumor recurrence and 2 patients (8.6%) developed tumor malignancy. 6 patients (26.1%) had bleeding and the tumor site was 5 patients (21.7%) ethmoid, 7 patients (30.4%) fontanel, 6 patients (26.1%) maxillary sinus, 1 patient (4.3%) %) Frontal sinus, 1 patient (4.3%), sphenoid, 3 patients (13.0%) were mixed. Fifteen patients had tumor spread, 5 (33.3%) maxillary tumor, 5 (33.3%) sphenoid, 3 (20.0%) Skull bon & oerbit and 2 (13.3) %) The lamina was papyrus.
